Haven’t met anyone from youtube, but have made some awesome connections. From Russell, Ontario Gunnarolla, happy Easter!
Meetin Youtube stars in person is very awkward indeed. This past weekend I met Erika David, n Traphik aka TimothyDeLaGhetto. lol i hate meetin ppl jus to take a pic n leave so i try to make conversation.. but I’m extremely awkward. Words don’t come out right and my questions sumtimes don’t make sense. oh to add in, i embarrassed myself with awkward comments. i said to Erika David, I hope I don’t smell like food I just ate, after takin a picture ! I also met Wes from WongFu. AWKARD TO DA MAX.
Question of the day, then: do you think computing, the Internet and social networking have made people better or worse in social situations? Why?
I bet I can “out-awkward” you, any day of any year, and without even trying. I’m not saying that’s a good thing.
I’ve met a whole bunch of youtubers. A few well known ones: sxephil, shaycarl, happyslip…
I also hang out with occasionally a bunch of youtubers who all live in the Toronto area with our mini ‘Youtuboggan’ gatherings. (ie. AndrewBravener, Nanalew, godfrizilla, airairariel, massaar6… etc etc)
I also fell into Landon Pigg while tripping over the stairs walking out of the Whip It premiere at TIFF… =\

I havnt met any youtube celebs yet… but I was recognised 3 times by ppl who saw me… always catches me off guard. It’s cool, but I never really know what to say either.

Ummm….I’ve never met “YouTube celebrities” or of any kind. Just some Hispanic Christian singers

I’ve only met lame celebrites like Simple Plan.
Oh and Sean Astin.
He wasn’t as hobbit-y as I had hoped, though.
Never met any youtube celebrities, but I’ve met a few musicians: Hayley Williams (Paramore), Justin and Chris (Anti-Flag), Classified, Dustin Kensrue(Thrice), Skratch Bastid, Senses Fail, and Chuck Palahniuk, who’s the author of Fight Club.

Oh snap. Then, if we meet, the awkwardness will be so much, we both might implode. I’m awkward enough on my own as is.

Hmmmm….. I HAVE met author Jim Butcher, creator of “The Dresden Files”. And Stand-up comedian ANT. And the actor who played Ben on “Queer as Folk”. And now that I think of it, I met astronaut Storey Musgrave. But no-one from YouTube, alas!
I have met a couple of celebrities but you wouldn’t know them, for they are brazilian celebrities ¬¬
And this new video page layout is indeed rather weird….what happened to rating stars? Now I’m only able to like/dislike?? but what if I liked, let’s say, 57% of the video?? I wouldn’t neither like nor dislike~~
But I LOVED the statistics!! Quite funny to check out in which countries the videos are being watched the most!!!! I am watching this one in Brazil, hey!
I don’t think i’ve ever met anybody I consider celebrities off of youtube but people have met me and considered me a celebrity off of youtube! haha. my friends and I made a twilight parody (don’t laugh too hard) and when we were invited to a convention because of it, we were recognized and it was amazing and weird all at the same time. It still blows my mind some people find me quotable, haha!

Anyway, I’ve had people come up to me at schools I’ve taught and I’ve met a few people and hung out with them either cause they sent me an email that they were in town (and I had time) or through twitter and such. There aren’t many people in Vancouver that I know of on YouTube. Most Canadian’s I watch are over in your area – that’s why I’m going to fly over there this year some time.

I met Liam (Littleradge) and I used to adore him, and it was so weird! I was with my best friend and we accidently said the same thing at the same time and I giggled non-stop and he looked really freaked out! Oops!
This was awkward…
